Siesta Dunes 8-205

It has been quite a while since my last visit to 8-205. My last review was on June 27, 2023. Since then, I have experienced several illnesses. And my wife Gail passed away on July 28, 2025. After 49 years of marriage. I miss her greatly. Fortunately, my health has returned and I am vacationing for the first time in three years. I arrived on July 13 and spent my usual 33 days, leaving on August 15. It was a wonderful feeling to be back. 8-205 is truly a home away from home. I have said it before and I\'ll say it again, with all due respect for Siesta Dunes management and other owners. I\'ve thoroughly examined Siesta Dunes\' superb website, with videos of every apartment. Trust me, there isn\'t another apartment in the complex that compares to 8-205. The owners, Bill and Florence Carter, have furnished the apartment as if it was their only home. My sister, who has time shares in North Port and St. Petersburg Beach, visited for two days and said she hadn\'t seen anything like it. Very impressed. And she isn\'t easily impressed, not in her business. Love the glassed-in porch for afternoon reading. This was my seventh visit to 8-205 and the sleep quality is always first-rate. The washer/dryer is a daily convenience, especially after a morning on the sandy beach. I\'m already looking forward to coming back in July/August 2027. Why July/August? I\'m asked that question frequently. The water temperature is 90 degrees. Bath water. I\'m from Chicago. Lake Michigan\'s temperature is never higher than 64 degrees. Question answered. Enjoy your time at 8-205.

We had a wonderful stay in this Florida condo. The high ceilings made the apartment feel incredibly light, bright, and airy—far superior to the ground-floor units we’ve stayed in previously. It was beautifully furnished, with a stunning large dining table that comfortably seated six of us for Christmas dinner. The cosy, glassed-in porch was a real bonus, keeping the daytime warmth in during the cooler December evenings. Lovely comfortable beds and a very well-stocked kitchen made it easy to fully relax and feel at home throughout our stay. The grounds of the complex are immaculate, and we loved BBQing in the smaller area just a minute from the apartment. Strolling along the beach—truly as white as snow—and grabbing a sun lounger in the private beach area were definite highlights. All in all, it’s a gorgeous place with a friendly, welcoming feel, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

My wife and I have been staying at Siesta Dunes Condominium in Sarasota, Florida, since the late 1970s. Previously, we had stayed in two units. The first was sold when the owners left the country. The second was taken off the market by the owner, who still maintains his residence on the property. So we asked management to find another unit. Welcome to 8-205, owned by Bill and Florence Carter of Northern Ireland. As a long-time traveler, I do a lot of research on hotels, restaurants and attractions while planning our vacation trips. I have reviewed Siesta Dunes\' excellent website and if there is a finer unit in the 100-unit complex, I am not aware of it. No exaggeration. And I\'m not paid to say it. The Carters\' unit already was a class act but this year they installed a new washer/dryer, a new dishwasher, new carpets and a new air conditioning system. No other unit is furnished so completely and elegantly, like a home away from home. Love the glassed-in porch for reading and relaxing. A large kitchen with table and two chairs and a heavy-duty refrigerator with a freezer that conveniently holds my eight quarts of Kilwin\'s ice cream. A separate dining room. A comfortable living room with a 42-inch flat screen TV. Two bathrooms, one with a shower/tub and the other with a walk-in shower. Two bedrooms, one with a Queen-sized bed and the master bedroom with a King-sized bed. Two walk-in closets. Three TVs. More cooking ware and dishes and glassware and silverware than you\'ll find at Williams Sonoma. And a covered parking space for our car. It doesn\'t get any better than that!
